HR department to review how to protect federal workers from cyber attacks
U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is planning to review ways to protect Federal Employees from cyber attack, according to a letter obtained by CNN.
The Department of Labor (DOL) is also reviewing cyber security issues that could impact its employees, including cyber-attack risk and cyber threat assessments, according the letter obtained Thursday by CNN and shared with CNN.
A DHS official did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The department is looking at ways to ensure the DHS workforce can stay safe from cyber threats, including how to identify cyber threats and what steps are needed to protect employees.
The DHS and DOL have both previously announced their cyber security plans.DOL has already taken steps to prevent and mitigate cyber-related employee disruptions.
DHS and DHS-funded organizations such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Census Bureau are taking steps to mitigate cyber attacks on their systems.
