How to make your HR career a bit more interesting
Posted October 15, 2018 09:00:50You can’t really ask a lot of people to do your job.
That’s one of the lessons I learnt when I was HR director at a big consulting firm in New York.
I knew the HR department was filled with people who’d done great work before, but they didn’t have much experience.
So when I got my first offer, I was immediately put into the weeds, thinking I’d have to do a lot more than what I’d been offered.
I ended up spending a lot less time thinking about what I wanted to do than I should have.
I learned a lot about my role as an HR professional, but I also learned how important it is to focus on the people who actually do your jobs.
I think it’s something that’s incredibly important for anyone who wants to do their job well.
