How Uber is turning India into a platform for innovation
Uber has entered India with a team of 30 people.
They have been working with healthcare and healthcare startups to improve patient care.
Here is what they’ve learnt: Uber has started a medical team in India The team is working on developing a medical technology that will enable doctors to better deliver their patients.
They are also researching the use of technology to provide access to doctors’ office hours.
Uber will pay the doctors for their efforts, said Anuj Sinha, a VP at Uber India.
Uber has opened its doors to India in October 2018.
The team, which includes senior HR professionals, is working with some 30 healthcare startups in the country.
In a meeting at the company’s office in Bengaluru on Wednesday, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick talked about the need for healthcare innovation.
“If you are a doctor, you want to know what your patients are going through and you want them to get better,” he said.
“But when it comes to healthcare, you need to be a leader in your own field.”
Uber is an early investor in Mediapro.
Uber’s CEO is expected to visit India in November for a two-day business incubator programme.
Uber is looking for talent from all walks of life and different backgrounds.
“We are looking for people who have a passion for healthcare and want to help people get better at it,” said Anupam Gupta, Uber’s VP of global partnerships.
“There are so many things that are happening with healthcare in India, and we need people who are going to help drive that change.”
