How to handle your HR director’s comments on Black Lives Matter
What if your HR Director had a message for Black Lives Matters supporters?
This is a good time to be an HR Director.
In an article by The Huffington Post, HR Director of a California HR firm has written a lengthy letter to the Black Lives Movement, urging Black Lives to respect their rights.
He also makes a direct reference to the death of Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.
The HR Director writes: The Black Lives movement has failed to respect the civil rights of African Americans.
In order to respect Black Lives, you must respect your fellow Black Lives.
He goes on to say: Black lives do not have to be taken away, nor do they have to die, nor must the police treat them as criminals.
They do not even have to fear being murdered.
What would you do if your boss had made such an insensitive comment to your Black Lives group?
